In conjunction with collecting algae from the field to be extracted we also obtain samples to be isolated and ideally cultured in the laboratory for future extraction. Our cultures are largely marine cyanobacteria. Cameron maintains a library of over 250 cultures that have been collected from all over the world. We have a variety of collections that Cameron is currently working on isolating and scaling up to sufficient volumes for extraction and isolation of novel compounds. He is also partially responsible for organizing and successfully completing new collections.
Cameron is originally from San Diego and completed a B.S. in Biology (emphasis: Marine Biology) at UC Davis.
