Amrit Sareen joined the Gerwick Lab on August 24, 2006 and quickly learned the ropes of the extraction protocol under the guidance of Cameron Coates and Adam Jones. He currently works closely with Cameron Coates and Nhu Dao on a number of different extractions weekly in the extraction lab. A sophomore student at UCSD, Amrit is pursuing a major in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and actively leads two student organizations – ISPE – UCSD Chapter and SCTC. He hopes to pursue a research career in genetic engineering someday.
